The sources of pollution for this lake are the many suburban areas surrounding and another source is farming which has a ton of fertilizer and pesticide runoff. A big factor of pollution in this lake is that the change in habitat surrounding the lake is altered. The lake is polluted with 75 million tons of sediment that contains lead, cadmium, arsenic and zinc which all add to the eutrophication of the lake. 3. The measures that could be taken are increasing the biodiversity around the stream which can help take up more nutrients that may be coming into the stream. Another way is regulating the use of fertilizers in the suburban areas and on the farms that are leaching

As the climate heats up our water systems begin to lose the life plant life within them, the temperatures cause increases in “bacterial activity” (Havens) which is the main cause for depletion of oxygen and increase in nutrients which is what eutrophication is. Not only can you have increased amounts nutrients within the water, but the increased temperatures just make things worse for the overall functioning with different systems.
