The three methods I chose are ones that are easily applicable in my workplace, on an hourly basis. Needless to say, my employer is a walking talking HIPAA violation. I work for a call center, which I will leave nameless, that would get shut down should there be a security inspection. From the fact the computers are on each workstation (vs a dumb terminal) with the USB and CDRW drives not disabled to no screen protectors and agents that don’t lock their machines when they leave them. A social engineer could rake the floor here with only having basic access to the floor, much less a log in. From shoulder surfing, impersonation, and phishing an engineer with the basic human skill of communication would find a major payday. I will discuss how this can happen in order at my workplace. Impersonation is when a person presents themselves as something or someone they are not. After all, on the internet, nobody knows if you are a dog or a person. I watch on a daily basis, people I have never seen before walk around our floor. They are not restricted in any way. Just the other day, I watched a man claim he was from one of our contracting companies and was here for an inspection. Without calling the company they gave him an unrestricted access badge and a tour of the location of everything from the break room to the server room.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
