BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT Film Ques FA 2018 1. During the robbery at the beginning of the film, the Joker is asked by a banker (who shot one of the robbers) what he believes in, what does he say in response? -He says whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stranger. As the robbery occurs before Batman and the Joker come into conflict, what part of plot structure would it be a part of? -Set up/setting. 2 . Ramirez, the female cop, takes coffee to Gordon as he waits by the bat signal on the roof of the building. They discuss her mother being checked into the hospital. This is a set-up as this fact relates to Ramirez’ actions at the end of the film. What is the pay-off? (Note: You will have to wait until you see the end of the film to answer this question) Ramirez’s mother is in the hospital. This is a set up because at the end of the film we come to know that Ramirez was paid off by the joker to put her mother in the hospital. 3. In a parking garage, the SCARECROW is confronted by criminals for the drugs he has been providing them, which is turning their customers into babbling idiots and so--not good repeat customers. In response, the Scarecrow tells them—obviously amused-- “I told you my compound would take you to places…I never said it was places you’d want to go.” Since this is the opposite of what one would expect, besides dialogue, what tool of the screenwriter is being used here? -Irony 4 . When Harvey says he makes his own luck, how does this connect to the coin he uses to toss? This coin comes to symbolize Harvey. - The coin turns out is faulty and both sides has heads. This What kind of symbol is it?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
