COMMUNICATION AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT 2 Communication and Change Management Communication Plan Communication is imperative to a successful project. The communications in project planning requires accurate information from all stakeholder as a means to ensure clear understanding of the expectation of the project from its beginning. “An awareness of the requirements of the project, the capabilities of team members, and the resources available will go a long way to the development of a viable project plan that will deliver its desired outcome”. (Tyson, n.d.). Effective communication must be interactive. In addition to active communications, face to face meetings, video conference, telephone conference, voice only web conference meetings, webinar presentation, and telephone calls, passive communication can be incorporated. Passive communications can include pod or web casts, email, intranet bulletin boards, project newsletter or a web site. Absence of good communications can cause concern about project status or issues and create invalid assumptions that can create conflict and contribute to project failure. Techniques, tools, models for project and how they serve the team For the Chase/Keys Wedding Project our model is the communication matrix. Using tools of project phase, receivers or stakeholders, and senders or presenters, representing the “who” in the project. The “what” is represented in the general subject of the communication. Frequency depicts the “when” and the medium is the “how”. To improve efficiency of communications, we have included a passive delivery through a Facebook page. This will allow stakeholders to pull
