The Metropolitan Museum Of Art. or whatever By Joshua Gomez The Metropolitan Museum Of Art is very famous and critically acclaimed to say the least, otherwise you wouldn’t have put it on the list on Canvas. As you may be able to tell, my expectations for this assignment were…...minimal. However I will power through this REHUGO like the trooper I am. I’ve seen many art museums in my life, however they were all in person. The museum contains a wide variety of art and expression, old and new, obvious and unorthodox. I was very surprised to see ancient flags, weapons, and shields in the museum, among other things. I guess the definition of art is as broad as people claim. (my definition of art is anything that is done or created for a purpose greater than its physicality. Poems aren’t written to put words on paper, they express something deeper, while people do laundry to clean their clothes. Nothing artistic

The video also shows the workers replacing the plants to brand new ones for even the most frequent guest’s enjoyment. After seeing this, I mainly focused on the historic art, which included pottery, ancient hieroglyphics and carvings, and the aforementioned weaponry. The history was fascinating, and the art was great and thought provoking, but seeing it behind a barrier of glass desensitized it for me. I was most enthralled by the suits of armor that were shown, as it’s just impressive to see, but the thing I got the most out of were the flags. I tried to ponder what each flag represented, and why the makers of each flag wanted this to represent their home. This museum certainly lived up to its potential....
