Garcia 1 Jocelin Garcia Mrs. Gwyn Pre-AP December 2, 2015 Analysis for Hush Hush Setting: The setting of the book took place in a small town named Coldwater, Maine. The city is located outside of Portland and the region is rural. The setting of the book isn’t really significant to the book because if the story took place in another place it wouldn’t change the book in the slightest way. Characters: Nora Gray: Nora is described as a “ smokey-eyed brunette with volumes of curly hair that holds its own against even the best flat iron.” She is also frequently described as a redhead. This gives you the idea that her hair must be dark red/brown. Nora’s height is around five feet and five inches. She is also described as having, “bar stool” legs. It is mentioned several times that Nora has a “weak mind.” This doesn’t mean that she is weak-willed, it means that is extremely difficult for her to block out mind controllers. Nora’s personality is practical and responsible and not looking for trouble, that is until Patch shows up. Nora’s character quote is not said by her it’s said to her by Patch. “You’re nothing like what I expected” (48 Fitzpatrick). I think this quote is important because it shows that Nora may look like a shy and quiet girl, but is completely different once you get to meet her. Patch Cipriano: Patch is described as a “dark-Levi’s, dark-Henley,dark boots kind of guy,” who smells of mint and earth. He is also described to have slightly curly, long, black hair. That supposedly “gave midnight a run for its money” and “eyes to match.” His smile is “sexy and warned of trouble.” Patch is said to be about 6 feet tall. Patch Cipriano is the ultimate bad boy, from his attitude to the way he dresses. Nora describes him best when she talks about a certain night she runs into him.

Garcia 2 A quote that Patch said was “Keep in mind that people change, but the past doesn't” ( 89 Fitzpatrick).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
