BOOK REVIEW 2 Review David Friedrichs in the book Trusted Criminals: White Collar Crime In Contemporary Society describe various types of crime associated with white-collar jobs and the cost of their consequences along with the theories that explain them and the effort through laws that have been established to control or eliminated them. Friedrichs outline these types of white-collar crime as corporate, occupational, governmental, cybercrime, and the policing and prosecution as well as defending white collar crimes (Friedrichs, 2009). Hence, the book suggests that white collar crimes are prevailing in the society and as much effort that is tried to be put to control them, the more it becomes difficult due to corruption and greed of power and resources. The crimes happen at all levels, and it becomes difficult to substantiate whether it is illegally performed or through a favor such as employee giving bribe to be promoted. Friedrichs takes a broad approach to the problem of corporate crime with the inclusion of the background of the crime, the task of informants and inspection reporters, and a cost analysis of white collar crimes.
