Essay 2 Essay Options (choose one) : 1) Write a literary analysis of Little Miss Sunshine , focusing on theme. Remember that theme has relevance beyond the work itself, so consider how the theme of the film is reflective of, or a metaphor for, an issue of family, society, culture, or humanity. Your thesis should indicate what you believe the film is saying about your chosen theme. Include appropriate elements (not plot) from the Literary Elements handout in your discussion. For example, you may choose to focus on how character, setting, and imagery reflect the overall theme. o Some possible themes: family relationships; winning and losing or success and failure; generational attitudes; non-traditional roles; death/suicide; coming of age/loss of innocence; self- determination; standards of beauty; sexualization of children; secrets and lies; character analysis of one, two, or three characters, but your analysis must focus on a specific theme or point. For example, analyze the character of Dwayne as the embodiment of Nietzsche’s philosophy, or Olive’s loss of innocence, or Grandpa, Richard, and Dwayne as representing generational ideas of being a man. These are just a few ideas; it is by no means a complete list of potential themes and you are free, even encouraged, to define your own theme. 2) Analyze the use of magical realism in “The Rememberer” and “The Company of Wolves,” specifically discussing how magical realism contributes to the development of a particular theme in each work. 3) Analyze and discuss “The Company of Wolves,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” and “Little Red Cap” using one or more of the prompts in the RRH assignment as the basis for a more in-depth literary analysis.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
