1 The Effects of Drugs on a Man’s Reproductive System Men and women are responsible as future parents to not drink alcohol or use any type of recreational illicit or prescription drugs which can severely affect the development of a fetus. There are so many agents that can cause abnormal prenatal development that maybe we are not even aware of this possible environmental hazard. Males that were exposed to toxic pesticides and even wartime chemicals like Vietnam veterans that were exposed to agent orange, for example, have been shown to have children with a high rate of spina bifida (King, 2017). Men that are considering fathering a child should consult their Doctors before initiating any type of medication, and if they are taking medications they should be aware of the possible side effects these medications
