My favorite retailer in Lansing is Forever 21 located in Eastwood Town Center. It is a fashion-forward store that focuses on teenage and collegiate females who are interested in getting the latest in trendy items for less. While it may be my favorite retailer, there are many different things that the store and the company as a whole could do to boost their sales while still catering to their target market. The main problem that I have had in every Forever 21 store that I have walked in to is that of their customer service. I often joke with my friends that they determine whether or not a person gets hired by the level of “rudeness” that they exude. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly employees is always a great way to boost a store’s competitive advantage, especially when there are many similar stores in the area that their same target market could choose to shop at instead.
