Results: In our experiment we tested the absorbance at 595 nm due to the fact that the Coomassie Brilliant blue dye absorbs best in that range. We chose to test at intervals of 500 from concentrations of 100 to 2000 to get data to form our standard curve. Results can be seen in Table 1. Table 1: Absorbance of Samples taken with Spectrophotometer. The absorbance of tube 1 is 0.063, the absorbance of tube 2 was 0.221, the absorbance of tube 3 was 0.337, the absorbance of tube 4 is 0.479, the absorbance of tube 5 was 0.574. Table 2: Unknown Sample “C” and Absorbance The results for our unknown sample “C” were as follows, 1:1 was 1.07, 1:5 was 0.354, 1:10 was 0.232, and lastly 1:20 was .104. Absorbance (595 nm) Tube # Sample 0 0 0 0.063 1 100 0.221 2 500 0.337 3 1000 0.479 4 1500 0.574 5 2000 0 n/a 0 1:1 1.07 1:5 0.354 1:10 0.232 1:20 0.104
From values we obtained from our test tubes and the absorbance we form a Standard curve graph. This curve gives us our y=mx+b equation and the R^2 value. The equation the curve

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
