Katelyn Cisneros Contemporary Ethics Dr. Weckerly July 27, 2017 Ethics are a system of moral principles that one follows. With ethics there is no black and white. There are only shades of grey. The principles on morality can depend on a person’s upbringing, education, or religious beliefs. There are usually two opposing alternatives that emerge when a decision that is deemed right and good or wrong and bad. Every day we are challenged with issues that we either need to act upon or not. There are six ethical theories. The theories are Divine command, Egoism, Utilitarianism, Natural law, Relativism, and Kant’s. To minimize suffering and maximize happiness; greatest good for the greatest number of people and no set of ethical standards. The right actions are those
