S tudent Upon planning for this analysis paper, I decided to visit the Tampa Museum of Art located in downtown Tampa. Currently, there is an exhibit by the famous Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. The name of this exhibition is “ Love is Calling,” which is the latest of her world famous mirrored infinity rooms. This was very exhilarating, as her artwork is very well-known, respected, and treasured around the world. It was such a treat to stumble upon something so amazing right here in Tampa. Yayoi Kusama is a world renown artist that gained prominence in the New York art scene in the 1960’s. She is still alive today at age 89, and still producing artwork. Kusama resides in Tokyo, Japan in a psychiatric facility where she has been living for the past 40 years by her own volition. Kusama suffers from panic attacks and hallucinations, and benefits from living in this hospital because she can deal with her anxieties and work at the same time. The pattern and repetition of her artwork could be used as a form of therapy to ward off her anxieties. Kusama is one of the most famous, active, living artists in the world. She is known for creating very colorful sculptures and paintings with polka dots and incorporates her dots in almost all of her pieces. Yayoi Kusama unlike other modern artists, encourages photography and the sharing of her exhibits. Today, in the era of the selfie, one can imagine her art gets shared extensively and raises her popularity especially on social media. This could be key to her interest in her art lasting for over half a century. “Love is Calling” is the exhibit I was able to experience by Yayoi Kusama. It first premiered in Japan in 2013. “ Love is Calling” is an infinity mirror room exhibit with big colorful polka dot covered tentacles lining the floor and ceiling. The materials used to create the piece are wood, metal, glass mirrors, tile, acrylic panel, rubber, blowers, lighting elements, speakers, and

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
