Short Answer 1: Why are you interested in your chosen major? I waddled into a glass building, mouth agape, with my pudgy fingers loosely clutching my father’s hand. I saw floor after floor of people hustling to their next meeting, some fumbling with papers, others on the phone with a deal hanging on by a thread. I love the idea of the constantly changing environment of my father’s office and that little girl’s experience is still something tangible. The excitement and the energy of a group of people coming together to better themselves, to grow, and to work together allures me. Within that excitement also exists the opportunity for innovation. Business is driven by innovators looking to constantly improve. By participating in a fully immersed dual credit college experience and earning my associate’s degree before I turn 18, I am also constantly challenging myself and looking for opportunities to

A degree in business will give me the opportunity to not only continue to be innovative but also live and thrive in an environment like the one I experienced as a girl and as an intern at Accenture. I am not a person to be content with what is and how it has always been done. I thrive on challenges, and, with a degree in business administration and marketing, each day would be a challenge. I plan to implement this mindset at the University of Texas at Austin by continuing the McCombs legacy in my family and being a participant in the “Women in Business Association” as I am a big proponent in challenging stereotypes and it provides a chance to network with young women with similar interests to my own.
