Elise McKay Mrs. Merrill Chemistry 3 November 2016 Use and Temperature of a Bunsen Burner 1) Summarize the method used to determine if there was a relationship between tmeperature and flame location. (Hint: Did you actually measure temperatures? Why did you have to use a thermocouple?) The reason that we used the thermocouple during the lab is, if we used the thermometer it does not measure as high as we needed. If we used a thermometer the glass or plastic could break. We didnt't actucally measure the temperature of the flame. The thermometes that we could use didn't go up to the highest temperature so we used a thermocouple and a digital volmeter. The digital voltmeter measured the flame in terms of voltage. We then used a table to convert voltage to temperature. When the class shared what we had found everyone's data agreed that the coolest part of the flame was point number 5, that was the closest to the bunsen burner.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
