Prayse Bailey English 3 H. 6/3/19 Module 3.08 Narrative Final Draft As a young boy, my mother and father was not around very much. My mother and father were always working so I would usually sit in my room playing with toys the house cleaners dropped off. One would say that my parents were busy with busy things, another would state that a boy should not be playing with his parents, but rather with other little boys, but those are just excuses. My mother and father have been humiliated since the word Montresor became a name. They call it there excuse for not dealing with me. How could they not, I mean we did things different, thought different, and even looked different. It was something us Montresor’s could not stop to change for medical practices were not around during this age right now. This being said, I have known humiliation since before I could start school. I never showed but it was a struggle getting through life knowing people talk about you all the time. One family in which I despised was Fortunato’s family. The humiliation grew on me and it cut through my skin. He would use his sarcasm to mock me and slowly but surely I grew a hatred for him and his family. See the difference between Fortunato’s family and I was the fact of everyone loved and feared his family, but opposite for me. As hatred grew, my actions grew, as I got older. I remember it as clear as day. The thought of secondary school made me cringe. I had barely made it through primary school, but not because I was dumb nor illiterate, but because my teachers wanted badly to not pass me. I know, one would think that if a person does not like you, they would try their hardest to get rid of you, but it was the other way around. “You will fail Mr. Montresor, for you are different.
