Ethan Brown Principles of Marketing 2-21-2017 Why the Delorean failed Description of the Delorean: The Delorean is a Sports Car, typically having a silver coloured exterior, produced by former manager of General Motors, John Delorean. The Delorean DMC 12 was design to have a low fuel usage, low price, and to be stylish. The Delorean DMC-12 is a 2 gull wing door Sports Car with a small, weak engine, the DMC-12’s top speed is 110 Mph and it could go to 0 to 60 Mph in 8.5 seconds with a manual transmission and in 10.5 seconds with an automatic transmission. When was the Delorean designed ? The DMC-12 was being designed from 1975 to 1981, it was first put on the market in 1981. In 1981, the DMC-12 costed $25,000, which was considered expensive. This was a problem, considering it was meant to be an inexpensive sports car, targeted to middle class people. From 1981 to 1983 there were nearly 9,000 DMC-12s produced. During christmas, they made 100 DMC-12s which were plated in solid gold designed to promote the car, but only 3 were purchased.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
