MEMO TO: Jeff Robertson FROM: Imer Rosado RE: Deja Blue Vulnerability DATE: November 5th, 2019 DejaBlue discovered on August 13 th , 2019 by Microsoft Security team is a BlueKeep related security vulnerability that affects newer Windows versions Windows 7, Windows 10 and Windows Server and older Windows versions. DejaBlue a variant of Bluekeep is a remote code execution vulnerability in windows Remote Desktop Services when an unauthenticated attacker connects to the target system using RDP. They can gain access to a vulnerable system by sending packets of code through the network that gives access to the system without the need to login and also allows of spreading to multiple connected systems without any physical interaction they can furthermore create admin users and the attacker could install malicious programs, execute ransomware or even delete data.
