The Development of Juvenile Justice 2 Abstract Ever since the juvenile justice system was created, there have been several changes to the way the justices system handles juvenile delinquents. From juveniles being transferred to adult courts up to the death penalty, these chances have truly impacted the nation drastically. More so now than ever, laws are based off of society’s opinions rather than a jury’s decision. 2

The Development of Juvenile Justice 3 One of the first modernized juvenile cases took place in the year 1966. This particular case established due process and fair play for juveniles that were transferred to adult court for very violent crimes. From there, there have been many other cases that has set different rules for juvenile punishments. Out of these many cases, there are three cases that could be considered important in the evolution and development of juvenile justice.
