Brittany Hammer AEC4465 October 16, 2013 Case Study 3 1) As stated in the textbook, a stakeholder is anyone that has interest or is affiliated with the organization. Therefore, the Adult Literacy Center’s stakeholders are anyone involved, interested, or affected by their decisions. Examples of the Adult Literacy Center’s stakeholders as stated in the article are: 320 students served in 2007, four full-time employees including, ”an executive director (John Atwater), an office manager, an education resource coordinator, and an education resource coordinator,” as well as seven part-time employees, 100 volunteer tutors, a board of directors, students, fundraisers, the township’s 100,000 prospects, a nonprofit institute, the community, etc. All of the stakeholders’ interests involve the Adult Literacy Center in some way whether directly or indirectly. For example, an employee is affected by the ALC directly because they work for the organization whereas the community is affected indirectly by little decisions that are made because they take place within the same city. 2) According to MHM, a leader should examine the people and stakeholders within an organization before planned change. Therefore, before the change should happen within the Adult Literacy Center, the leaders should look at their employees and other people, such as students to figure out the issue before implementing a change.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
