Jonathan Velez Computer fundamentals 6/12/19 When it comes to online etiquette rules it is important to understand the reasoning behind each rule. The six rules underlined and their reasoning in the video were: 1. Use the same standards of behavior online as in real life. When you are around people in the real world you don’t want anyone coming up to you cursing you out or just being down right disrespecting you and putting you down. This should be the way you act on an online environment. Disrespecting someone online and not acting civil can cause a lot of uproar and potentially cause online bully which can lead to some big issues we face in society like suicide and depression. 2. Be considerate. Being kind to someone is always a good thing whether it is online or in person. Some platforms used today such as Facebook help people alleviate some of the stress they are feeling or a hardship they are going through, by allowing the user to send out a post expressing how they feel or what they are going through.
