There are a plethora of operating systems (OS) to choose from in todays world to suite the needs of anyone out there. Every OS has its own uniqueness and I will be discussing several operating systems and how they differ from one another. The operating systems to be discussed are Apple, Microsoft windows, UNIX/Linux, Google Chrome, and MS-DOS. Each of these operating systems have a great history of how they came to be and each one differs from one another. Let us explore! When it comes to operating systems, they are only able to do what the creators intend them to do when being developed. Lets first look at MS-DOS; MS-DOS was a predecessor to many operating systems and was developed to only one user. Creating more than one user was not going to happen. MS-DOS also wasn’t able to multitask which made it obsolete compared to UNIX. UNIX was developed by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie. The operating system they developed allowed for multitasking and allowed multiple users. While MS- DOS lacked Unix flourished and is still used heavily today for servers.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
