Preventing and Ending Child Trafficking 2 Abstract This paper introduces four articles of different purposes on the same topic of child sex trafficking. The layout and content of these articles is explained and the argument in each is analyzed. This analysis includes how the solution of this issue is spoken about in these articles as well as their analysis of the conflict itself. How the issue is looked at plays a role in how a solution comes about; this is seen in the different types of articles. The information each article gives on child sex trafficking and how to solve it are compared and contrasted in a conversation of the articles. A synthesis of my thoughts on the topics and articles are told, as well as the results of looking into this issue. In the conclusion, you will read about the significance and possible routes that can be taken from here to further try to end child sex trafficking. Keywords: child trafficking, sex trafficking, crime, predators, victims

Preventing and Ending Child Trafficking 3 Lead As I get older, I realize more and more the dangers that surround us each day. Human trafficking is an issue that I have educated myself on in order to protect myself and the people around me. However, at sixteen years old, this is the first time I have researched human trafficking and truly learned what to watch for to keep myself safe. It is scary to think that I was around the dangers and predators of human trafficking as a child and had no idea. But then again, should a child be exposed to such a heavy crime at a young age? Before I chose to research human trafficking, I had still only heard of it in the recent years. These are the kind of events that seem too far away to have to worry about. Surely this is something that only happens in foreign countries, or maybe in big cities. The only way this could happen to me is if by some chance I was kidnapped. Nonetheless, being intrigued as well as concerned for my well being, I decided to begin researching. In doing so, I realized that human trafficking is much more than I had thought. By definition, child sex trafficking includes any person under the age of 18 being sold for sexual acts, voluntarily or involuntarily. However, there is an obvious range in physical and mental maturity and understanding from an infant to 17 years old. Many do not realize that the crime of human trafficking could reach a new low and become an issue for young children, but it is a real issue that needs to be recognized. If I am only now learning, imagine the amount of children extremely vulnerable to predators. Not only are they not physically able to defend themselves, but the lack of understanding and awareness creates another aspect of vulnerability.
