Supporters of the War Rank: 1. Women in the American Revolution 2. African Americans 3. Native Americans 1. Women in the American Revolution- I think women contributed the most the American Revolution. Women helped by assisting military troops out on the battlefield, managed to take care of the home, children and/or business affairs while their spouses were out fighting in the war. Women also held protests during the war. 2. African Americans- African Americans played the second most impactful role during the war because they fought for their freedom. The majority were African slaves and all they wanted was to be free. African Americans fought for both sides
since Britain had promised them their freedom in exchange for their service in the war. Regardless of which side they fought for, the reason why was the same; freedom. 3. Native Americans- During the war, the Native Americans believed the British when they said that if Americans won, they’d continue to spread out and take over more land, and the Natives didn’t want that. The Native Americans helped destroy the Iroquois Confederacy which had been created to keep peace among large tribes near the Great Lakes.
