5 Ethical Conflict Ethical conflict is related to conflict between self-interest, utility, happiness and duty It is in the form of divergence When one set of reasons leads to the conclusion that one action should be taken while another set of reasons points to a different action, the result is divergence

9 Social Dilemma Problems (like nuclear weapon, the green house effect, pollution, population explosion and depletion of natural resources) arise because various people pursue their own interest and ignore the welfare of others For instance, every factory owner thinks that it is expensive to install pollution control equipment: and that his factory does not cause much pollution. A decision or choice which benefits individual factory-owners becomes a burden to society This social dilemma will leads to conflict The question is how we can have the right to pursue our own interests and at the same time look after the welfare of our community

10 Conflict between Groups Conflict between groups occurs at all levels of social organizations- from fights between rival gangs to disagreements in industrial organizations, riots in cities
