1) Were Romeo and Juliet really in love? Romeo only first caught sight of Juliet about an hour or two before they decided to get married; they had only spoken for at most ten minutes. Was their love as Juliet said, “too rash, too unadvised, to sudden”? Can love at first sight be true love? Romeo and Juliet weren’t really in love, in fact, in the beginning Romeo was still hung up on Rosaline, and was trying to forget about her by “falling in love” with Juliet. For example, “At this same ancient feast of Capulet's Sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so lovest, With all the admired beauties of Verona: Go thither; and, with unattainted eye…” This is Benvolio speaking to Romeo, telling him the beautiful lady he loves so much (Rosaline) will be at Capulets traditional feast, and so will every other beautiful maiden in Verona. He says Romeo will forget how beautiful Rosaline is the second he goes to the feast because of the other women. He forgets Rosaline because of the great sadness her name brings him, “I have forgot that name and that name’s woe” and moves quickly onto Juliet. This shows how he makes very hasty decisions and how much really means

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
