Marie Oetzel PAD 3100-800-FA19 The Continuous Reinventing of the Machinery of Government In chapter 3 of our text we focus on 5 major themes. The first theme explored is “What is the Machinery of Government”. The machinery of government refers to the arrangement of legislative programs and services made up in the national, state and local governments. These forms of government change to meet needs based on issues that may arise and this creates new machinery, however change is not easy and is often meet with opposition. The second theme is “The Administrative Architecture of the US Government.” Traditionally and following the constitution we are provided with the initial and basic structure of how a government operates based on political, legal and rules. Many new issues arise and are evaluated and then treated as amendments to the original constitution to address rising needs. We are broken down into effective branches which include the Executive, which decides which laws should be enacted, Judicial, which interprets the laws and Legislative which makes the laws.
