TEAMS 2 Abstract Global companies face a wide variety of challenges when it comes to communication and teamwork. If not carefully navigated, it can result in low employee morale and a disconnect within teams. Without proper communication and effective team work, companies will not fare well. It is invaluable to have high performing teams that enjoy the work they do and want what is best for their teams and the company as they understand that the company’s success will improve their own success. This paper identifies key steps to take to improve communication and cultural barriers that the company currently faces.

TEAMS 3 When working as part of a team in a high-tech, global organization, it is of the upmost importance to have a high-functioning team in order to create a space for collaboration, communication and positive morale. Unfortunately, at this time the company is facing the opposite problem due to a mix of cultural and communication issues across the international teams and problems with technological equipment. The biggest barrier to overcome is the fact that the employees are not enjoying being part of a team. This revelation has forced the company to look into training and other initiatives to get employees excited about working for the company as well as working with each other. This will require a lot of needed changes within the organization that will allow everyone to work together in a collaborative environment. Management must take the necessary steps to ensure team cohesiveness across all groups. This starts with looking at each individual team member to determine their strengths and weaknesses. It is important to understand what each person offers to the team dynamic and to then play off of their strengths and help them improve on their weaknesses. An individual’s strengths can be invaluable to their team members. Their weaknesses can be learning
