Throughout life, the brain experiences “two great epochs” that are crucial to brain’s ability to modify itself. The first stage is referred to as The Infant “critical period”, this is the period of time where the fundamentals of processing are configured. Sensory processing plays a major role in this period of time, it allows the brain to “act differentially.” The next stage is ‘Adult Plasticity’, this is a period of time in where the brain becomes sophisticated, various skills are mastered. The abilityto establish opportunity cost, the brain analyzes the pros and cons of each decision. 2.What part of the TED Talk was most interesting to you? Least interesting? Why?I really appreciated this TED Talk, because it gave me a better understand of how the brain functions. But also, it made me question if the encounter or lack of encounter ofthese time periods affects a person’s psychological state. And if so, just how impactfulthey are to the brain. I would say the least interesting part of this video was the Mr. Merzenich’s speaking etiquette. His mouth unfortunately was unable to function as
