Week 3: Discussion reply -Kate I feel as you do that both factors play a role in the whole of our personalities. In my childhood experience my mother was not all that affectionate unless she had a few drinks as a result I do not trust affection coming from someone after they have been drinking. Even in my current relationship, if my partner (who I know loves me) has been drinking I tend to avoid any physical contact. My beliefs are somewhat contradictory, in that I think what we get genetically are markers that require a trigger to turn them on and I also think that we tend to do things we would have liked as children with our children.

Do you think you will use the information discussed in your reference material as your daughter grows?
