Erikson's stages Stage 1. which begins at birth and ends at 12 to 18 months. This is the stage where the primary conflex the Trust V.s Mistrust. In the first stage infant must form a loving and trusting relationship with caregiver or develop a sense of mistrust. Stage 2. which begins at 18 months and ends at 36 months. This stage is the stage where the basic conflict is Autonomy V.s. Shame and Doubt. during this stage the child's energies are directed toward the development of physical skill such as, walking grasping and bowel control. Stage 3. Initiative vs. guilt, which is from 3 to 5-6 years old. In the stage the children discover ways to initiate actions, and the child continues to become more assertive, but may become forceful leading to guilty feelings. Stage 4. industry vs inferiority. which is from the age 5-6 through adolescence. during this stage the child development of sense of competency occurs having feelings of inferiority no sense of mastery. Stage 5. Identity vs role diffusion, which is during adolescence to adulthood. During this stage
