Include their components (if they have multiple parts), function, and appearance in your discussion. Tight junctions are tightly stitched area between cells, that encapsulates the whole entire cell to prevent anything from moving between each cell. There are tight junction proteins that make it up and they wrap around the plasma membranes and join between the two cells like stitch- work. Gap junctions are made up of material called connexons, or a combination of six proteins that make the space between the two cells’ cytoplasm’s porous.
