Summary: Indianapolis, an Indiana- Cethedral High school belongs to the Indianapolis archdiocese , has announced that it will conform to the archbishop’s direct guidances to stop recruiting a teacher who is in a same-sex marriage. This decision comes days after a Jesuit high school in the archdiocese disregarded and defied to comply with a similar order and had its Catholic status divested by Archbishop Charles Thompson. Cathedral is the third school has been underpressured by Thompson as he said in his statement homosexual relasionship was forfeiting the Catholic identity because the employment of an individual living contradiction to Catholic teaching on marriage. The archdiocese requires all teachers, guidance counselors and administrators to sign employment covenants that acknowledge they are considered ministers who must follow church teaching. Thompson’s decisions have caused heated argument by online protest petitions and social media debate as he said church leaders would help the employees take steps toward living according to Catholic teachings including natural marriage. Moreover, last year, two female instruction counselors have been fired from a high school runs by archdiocesan because they're in same-sex marriages. Despite Thompson's injunction, Brebeuf's leader claims the school will continue to consider itself as an "independent Jesuit Catholic school."
