APPLYING THEORY TO EDUCATION 2 Applying Theory to Education Piaget’s cognitive development theory implies that children go through developmental stages to acquire knowledge and to understand the world around them. He believed that children take an active role in learning much like researchers do in conducting experiments, knowledge, and observations (Cherry, 2019). As children continue to interact with the world, they are consistently building their knowledge/awareness with old and new information. I found various interesting actives online for infants such as sensory, repetitive play, hide n seek, moving objects, block play, and many more that all contribute to a child’s cognitive development. Touch, feel, and grasp is an activity commonly used to help develop reflexes, and sensory through touch and feel. These exercises help infants and toddlers to grasp items such as rattles, stuffed animals, and balls (Chung, 2019). Food can also be used such as baby puffs to help
