Running Head: Gangster Genre The genre of a film helps the audience have some understanding of the film before they watch the film. Genre puts all films in categories in which a film can be placed in classification. There are many different classifications or genres in films western films, gangster films, Mysteries film, Film noir, Horror film, fantasy films and Science Fiction films. The film can also have subgenres that farther label the film even more. For example, the romantic comedy genre can also overlap with subgenre like screwball comedy, teen comedy, or gross-out comedy (Goodykoontz & Jacob, 2014.) Pulp Fiction a film directed by Quentin Tarantino put in the gangster genre but can have subgenres of romantic comedy and film noir. The film mixes the different genres in great unique ways with the Director jumps around with the film but comes all together in the end. Pulp Fiction is a different film in way because is directed and put together in unconventional style. Pulp Fiction frames the whole film, which follows several storylines through a jumbled temporal sequence. (Bidwell 2001) The film is unique take on a few genres. The film begins with
