BBH 119: Change Your Alcohol and Drug Use Worksheet 1 Change Your Alcohol and Drug Use Worksheet Review and Reflect on Your Alcohol and Drug Use Directions: Review and reflect on the following Reflection Questions based on your completion of the Drug Use Diary Exercise and your Alcohol and Drug Use Self-Assessments before completing Step 1. Reflection Questions 1. Were you surprised about anything in your drug diary or self-assessments? If yes, what surprised you? o I was not surprised by anything in the self-assessment. 2. What patterns, if any, were apparent in your alcohol and drug use? o The daily use of alcohol (one or two beers a day) was very apparent in my diary. 3. Are you using alcohol and drugs as a coping mechanism to deal with your stress levels or moods? If yes, how frequently are you using them? o I would say I am. I use them as a coping mechanism about twice a week, It helps relieve some built up tensions and helps me to relax for a little. 4. Looking at your drug diary and self-assessments, are there any substances you would like to reduce or eliminate? o I could reduce the amount I drink every week. It is not necessary to have a few beers every day. Reducing or Eliminating Alcohol and Drug Use Directions: Fill out your stage of change in Step 1 and complete the remaining steps depending on which one applies to your stage of change. Step 1: Assess your stage of behavior change. Please check one of the statements on the next page that best describes your readiness when it comes to reducing or eliminating the drug listed in Reflection Question 4, above. Precontemplation: I do not intend to eliminate or reduce use of this drug in the next six months.
