Sustainability, Community Engagement and Diversity & Inclusion Review – BA 342 SP18 Student Name: Matthew Marcante Assigned Fortune 1000 Company Name: Molina Healthcare Assigned Fortune 1000 Company Website: - US/Pages/home.aspx Fortune 1000 Rank: 201 Introduction: Molina Healthcare contracts with several state governments and provides many health care services to anyone who qualifies for government sponsored programs. They also own medical clinics in California, Florida, Michigan, New Mexico, Utah, and Washington. Their clinics provide primary care services such as prenatal care, immunizations and flu shot. Molina also has a subsidiary called Molina Medicaid Solutions. This subsidiary created a management information system that provides the “technological foundation” necessary for state agencies to meet the “Medicaid Information Technology Architecture business process and regulatory health care requirements” (About Us). Molina also helps keep the cost low for their customers who are transferring from Medicaid to the Marketplace through their Molina Marketplace program. Finally, Molina also has a program called Pathways which is one of the largest providers of behavioral and mental health services. Sustainability: While Molina Healthcare does not provide a comprehensive sustainability report, they do try to impact their communities and the environment in many different ways. Molina Healthcare has just finished building a new IT center that will be LEED Certified. They have also implemented a ride share program that provides incentives for employees to use a bus, train, bike, carpool system, or walk to work. Molina recycles and is exploring new processes such as their Managed Print program so that they can use less resources in the future. Molina has recently implemented a new program called the 10,000 steps program, in this program every employee is given a pedometer and a tee-shirt so that the company can promote a healthier lifestyle.
