The Guide to Farm Pigs BY: Annastasia Hurt-Moran & Jaden Nelson Habituation: A good Habitat for pigs is a warm habitat close to water, preferable Grassland Feeding: A pig is an Omnivore. That means that they eat food of both plant and animal origin Intelligence: Pigs have good long-term memories, and they can be socially manipulative with other pigs. They can tell which people are nice to them and which aren’t. They’re also able to distinguish between pigs they know and pigs that are strangers. Temperament: The normal body temperature of the pig is 38.7-40 °C ( 101.6-104° F ). Vision: Pigs have poor sight, and colour vision. Pigs also have panoramic range of about 310 degrees and binocular vision of 35-50 degrees however it is thought that they have no accommodation, which means their ability to focus is limited. Noise: very sensitive hearing may become stressed with prolonged exposure to noise Conditioning: First start with getting you pig familiar with the treats/reward. Show the pig your reward and lift it in front of their snout and slowly up and over the head. Your
