(a) Explain briefly each of the following terms as used in Network analysis: [8 Marks] (i) Critical Path The series of activities that have a zero slack. It is the longest time path through the network. It gives the shortest time the project can take to complete. A delay for any activity that is on the critical path will delay the completion of the entire project. (ii) Dummy activity A dummy activity is a fictitious activity that consumes no time and is inserted into a network to make the network display the proper predecessor relationships between activities.
