Catalase Enzyme Lab Report Due:9-3-2019 By:Miracle Bassey Period:5 l The Problem -How does the temperature affect the enzyme? Answer:when the temperature increases it speeds up the enzyme and its energy when it decreases it slows its energy down Background Information Catalase is an enzyme in the liver that breaks down harmful hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water. When this reaction occurs, oxygen gas bubbles escape and create foam. Hypothesis -My hypothesis was that If the catalase enzyme temperature increases or decreases it will speed up in energy or get slower in energy -Materials and Procedures - See Enzyme Lab handout -Data/Charts Start Temperature Peak: 36°C Hot bath Peak: 45°C Cold bath Peak: 28°C Hot bath: 9°C change in temperature(start peak temperature- hot bath peak temperature)

Unformatted text preview: Cold bath:8°C change in temperature(start peak temperature- hot bath peak temperature)-Conclusion-The facts from the lab have proven the hypothesis Ⅵ correct Original hypothesis:If the catalase enzyme temperature increases or decreases it will speed up in energy or get slower in energy-There was a 9 degree celsius increase from the original temperature to the hot bath from my data and an 8 degree celsius increase from the original temperature to the cold bath from my data-The Start Temperature Peak was 36°C ,The Hot bath Peak was 45°C , and The Cold bath Peak was 28°C Credit from site: ? q=Catalase+liver+Enzyme&rlz=1CAXBTQ_enUS864&oq=Catalase+live r+Enzyme&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l5.563j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&surl=1&safe=active&ssui=on...
