Slowly the soldier greys, wrinkles and turns todust under the weight of his cynical deeds that pledge him onto tragic death. This man used to bethe powerful Macbeth in Shakespeare’s tragic play Macbeththat shows the costs to over ambition and greed as these sins take down a strong hero in Scotland to a mere gravestone amongst traitors. Shakespeare’s plays continue to enthrall readers in fantasies of entertainments all the way from the late 16th century to present day, though through the years literary enthusiasts continue to uncover evidence against his masterful authorship. Many accuse Shakespeare of fraud or being the alias of some more educated or ingenious author of the 16th century England. Frontline’s “Much Ado About Something” episode brings forth factual evidence towards the controversy between the authorship of Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe that points to a collaborator that brought the fame to Shakespeare’s writing. That collaborator was Marlowe. Examining Marlowe’s life with a closer lense allows observers to realize the similarities between Marlowe’s plays and Shakespeare’s as well as his mysterious death that leaves even the strongest Shakespearian supporters wavering to find evidence against Marlowe involvement. Christopher Marlowe comes into a family of 9 children (two died in infancy) where he has to compete to get everything, including attention which helps to shape his non-conformist attitude in writing as well as in life. Later on he becomes educated at Cambridge University to become a deeply religious member of the Church of England. Instead of following a straight path to the church lifestyle, Marlowe is recruited into Queen Elizabeth’s secret service against assassination attempts by Catholics. This adventurous turn makes Marlowe set on being a rebellious playwright after graduating Cambridge. The first red flag appears in the fact that Marlowe actually received an education from a university, unlike Shakespeare who has no record of any schooling.
