In medieval times universities would revise their curriculum to meet the demands of the educational needs. Even today in America and Western Culture the same thing occurs. America and Western Cultures must do this because literary, visual and performing arts are always changing. Each individual gains values and ideas from the things they are exposed to and study. For instance, people who have been deeply exposed to poetry, tend to have more fluent language skills. Having a love for literary arts can make a person put a high value on education. In the same aspect a person not exposed to a broad spectrum of literary arts may not put a great deal of value on this type of education. The things that we place value on become who we are as people.
