Crimes That Harm Business versus Crimes Committed by Business A corporation is always considered as an artificial being by the law hence can be classified as a legal status for business purpose but not as a person (Seaquist, 2012). Due to the existence of this definition, criminal law was not applicable to the corporations some past years as some nations do follow the definition. However, today, the united states do not follow this definition and depicts that a corporation usually commits a crime when an employee commits a crime while in line of employment or for the benefit of the corporation. In this case, the corporation is considered to have committed a crime regardless of the actions of the employee being against the corporation policies and benefits or not. Therefore I believe that both a corporation that commits a crime and a person that commits a crime to harm a business are a great threat to the civil society. The innocent in the long run is bound to pay the biggest prices for the crime committed in either case. The general
