Rainbow Networking Solutions – Proof of Concept. L01 Explore LAN design principles & their application in the network design process. LAN is a computer network which interconnects with a limited number of geographical areas. LAN is faster and securable with high speed, high transfer data rate and transmission of bandwidth. It has less congestion in the network and has a fewer number of fault tolerance. It allows a single pair of devices to communicate. It is easy to design and maintain the network. The ownership of the network is privately used in small areas like schools, hospitals or buildings. Ethernet and WI-FI are the common technologies used in LAN for data transmission. The following are the designing principle and their application are- 1) Look outside in and inside out- It adopts network design with the Internet of Things and non-PC devices where it easily determines the requirement of physical device and topology. In this, it defines the infrastructure of each terminal type, capacity and features of an application. It enables both local edge and cloud-based networking. Application- It centralized network control with each endpoint and bandwidth with network load. 2) Designing Security and management - It design network in such a way that easily configure, deploy, manage and troubleshoot within the network. While designing the network, it minimizes the network breach risk and resolve the potential failure. Application- It allows flexibility on cloud-based unification. 3) Maximize efficiency and lower the complexity- It minimizes the cost of implementation and reduces complexity in troubleshooting. It easily accelerates the transformation to add new endpoints and connect new devices. Application - It supports long cables and energy-efficient switches and reduce e-waste and make environmentally superior. 4) Separation in LAN network- It constructs integrated paths of network which ensure network away from any interruption or intrusion into the network. By implementing a unified network, it reduces the risk and breaching. Application - IP address not to disturbed and harm IoT network 5) Resources allocation- It enhances the communication within the network where it manages Ethernet switching and cabling and improves the security and experience for users. Applications - Allow gateway and protocols to operate the hierarchy of the network so that it can easily enhance the business process. Explanation: LAN is a resource, software application sharing like printer, modems and many more. It cost cheaper to purchase the software over network. The typically depend on access, distribution and core. It is secure data and share data at the same time with high speed of connection between the server and client. As it covers limited area, it requires authentication to access the network. It is used in building, offices, schools, colleges and many local areas.
