ANALYZING PUBLISHED RESEARCH Analyzing Published ResearchThe center of the group’s focus point is preventing falls in hospitals. Falls are the most frequently reported safety incident within the hospitals. Falls are a significant problem because they can lead to more complications for the patient as well as the hospital. The priority for any health care worker is to maintain the patient’s safety as well as preventing any further harm. “Fall related injuries are the most common cause of accidental death in those over the age of 65, resulting in approximately 41 fall related deaths per 100,000 people per year” (User, 2016). These statistics document this as a huge problem. Patient’s safety is priority and there are many ways falls can be prevented in hospitals. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate and analyze the research that had been gathered in the search strategy paper and analyze the content of all of the articles and to determine if the information is informative enough for the final step in the final paper. Synthesis of Literature I chose two articles that are related to fall prevention and the study of how they can be prevented in a hospital setting. In the first article, Geriatric falls in the context of a hospital fall prevention program, the concept being studied is if fall prevention programs are really effective in decreasing the number of falls in an inpatient setting. With this research, the study over the two groups was researched in the hospital over their stay in the hospital and a conclusion was conducted in the end.
