The company’s profitability and productivity are dependent on employees’ performance and their ability to use their full potential. It is important to leverage the skills of its employees for a small company as they are not in the position of competing with large organizations. The reason for this is a larger company has the technology, infrastructure, and resources. If a company is to thrive the company needs to be smarter and more productive then their competitors. Goal management is not just assigning goals, reviewing employee performance, and the company’s performance, it is about being able to get every employee to utilize their talents, skills, and experience to assist the company in meeting its goals. Goal management has a large part in major companies but also has an impact on small businesses. Goal alignment also plays avital role in goal management and its effect on the company and its employees. Business strategies that are not solid or bad implementation of the goals can cause a company to fail in reaching their set goals. The reason that many strategies fail is because of the people behind setting the strategies. It is important that when a company is creating organizational alignment needs to have open communication. The need to have leaders is crucial as they set ethical goals that are clear and concise for all employees. Also, leaders give employees honest responses that are timely with the objective of helping employees to increase their performance levels.Leadership that is effective includes multiple plans and the choice that will work best is chosen from the options for the betterment of the company. Effective leadership inspires those may not have adopted the option to understand why it was the best choice when compared to their suggestion and commit them to the path. The success of a company is dependent on how employees interact with each other. Team work creates the success of a firm’s goals. The

Michael Mankins has estimated that there is a potential of 63% financial return for businesson many strategies. Less than 10% of employees have an understanding of the strategies that their employer uses and the expectations in reaching them (Kaplan & David, 2001). It is the responsibility of the leader to develop organizational alignment as it is critical to the firm. The way that a leader explains the company’s vision will create that will assist in reaching the alignment. There is a direct connection between the two and the leader’s ability to inspire their staff.
