HIV/AIDSStructureultrathin section, surface replica electron microscopy and immunoelectron microscopy to discover the fine structure.A lot of research has shown that HIV are part of the retrovirus family. Both morphological features of thestructure of the viruses, and the physiology of the viruses show similarities to the specificity of the retrovirus family. Surface replica EM focused on the number of virus envelope projections. “immature” cells – ribonucleoprotein is shown to be 18nm broad, with an electron-dense shell – whereas “mature” particles have a condensed core which is different shapes depending on the angle of the section. An electron-opaque core shell, 4-5nm in thickness can be identified from the electron dense nucleoid. This contains the RNP of the virus.HIV is only spread in bodily fluids from someone already suffering from HIV. These fluids are blood, semen, re-seminal fluids, rectal, vaginal fluids and breast milk. This results in sharing injection drug equipment and having sex, with someone who has HIV as some of the most common ways for HIV to be spread. Breast milk results in breastfeeding and childbirth also being ways to spread HIV, mother-to-child

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
