Writing a SonnetSalutations poets,Ultimately, part of the poetry unit is making a poetry portfolio. I will teach you a variety ofdifferent styles of poetry for you to try. You will then select your best work of each style and you will be turning in all of your poetry at one time to Mr. Andrews. You will turn in a hard copy with the poems in the order that they were given. They do not need to be on separate sheets of paper, but there should be significant space between them.Sonnet Requirements*14 lines*10 syllables/line (I will be counting)*Rhyme Scheme of the Shakespearean Sonnetababcdcdefefgg*Deals with love/passion/ardor of a particular subject, person, or situation (this could be great for a Valentine’s Day poem!)first 12 lines: introduce and develop a theme/problem/situation last 2 lines: solve the problem/have closure (conclusion)Examples:Sonnet 18by William ShakespeareShall I compare thee to a summer's day?
