Bourquin 1 Mikala Bourquin Ms. B.H College Prep English 10 October 2019 Crazy Life on the Farm with my Crazy Grandpa Ten years ago I woke up early as I do everyday, walking down the creaky stairs of my grandparents 100 year old house in a little town known as Irene, South Dakota. I see my grandpa. Let me tell you a little bit about my grandpa Bill. He was a stubborn old man who refused to believe he was aging. His dark, leathery skin and sun spots from working outside on the farm all day. His partly bald head and a roundish face, is what I remember the most. His big hands filled with grease from out working on the tractors which smelled every time he came inside. From his blue jeans with boots too his buttoned down plaid shirt was the daily outfit for him. The hefty stomach he had from my grandma's homemade southern foods. Although he was a redneck weirdo, he taught my cousins and I a lot about life in the most unique ways. He has taught us to be brave, to love one another and how to always choose happiness when nothing else is. He was watching our favorite show, The RifleMan. My grandpa and I are always the first ones up. We sit there, watching our favorite Westerns until my grandma yells “Breakfast is ready.” My grandpa usually replies with something like, “It's about damn time”. He didn’t really treat my grandma with respect, kinda treated her like crap but we knew he loved her. We walk into the kitchen smelling fresh farm eggs from the chickens

Every morning as we sat at the table for breakfast I would hear “do you want my whites?” My grandpa would always give his whites and I loved them. His plate usually consisted of this- A piece of toast with jelly spread Topped with super runny egg yolk and bacon. He would cut it into a bunch of little pieces and call them “sandwiches” It wasn't long until I started doing it too. During breakfast I would always wait to hear the daily project we had to do around the farm. My grandpa said “ today's job is too paint the chicken coupe gates” After breakfast we would both go outside and do our duties. We would go outside too the smell of farm. By farm I mean cow manure, chickens, and farm fresh crops, man was it gross but you didn't even notice it once you were out there for awhile. I would hear chickens, cows, and horses every morning and i loved it. I went too do my favorite job, That job was too get the eggs from the chicken coupe. I would walk too the back of the house too where the chicken coupe was. As i got closer and closer i would hear the clucking of the chickens louder and louder.Sometimes i was scared to go in. I

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
