UNIT IV-MOTIVATION 2 A critical component within any organization is motivating employees in an effort to meet or exceed company goals. Employees that have low moral will not be motivated to complete the simplest tasks. In most cases, bad or low morale does not happen overnight or with just one bad day. Low morale and unmotivated employees using starts with management. Management that allows this type of behavior to exist is the root of the problem. The best analogy is that low morale and unmotivated employees are like a cancer. This type of behavior will become a cancer within an organization if management does not find a way to resolve this issue. Employees with low moral or are not motivated will start to show behaviors that are counter-productive to any organization. Employees with low moral will not deem company goals as a priority. Deadlines will not be met. Employee will be late to work. Customers will receive poor customer service. Employee retention will be an issue. The Human Resource department will be swamp with employee’s issues which can be traced to low morale and unmotivated workers. There are an array of ways to stimulate, motivate and improve morale.
